Detail from the preliminary work an ongoing collaborative project with Nick Creber based on the reinterpretation of Ruben’s “Minerva protects Pax from Mars(Peace and War)”.
Last night a painting I donated in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support was sold at the Macmillan De’Longhi art auction in a fancy place in central London. The piece was Young Roebuck with Rough Tubes and all money went to Macmillan, its in the left of this photo next to works by other artists who’d donated. The auction managed to raise £80,000 for Macmillan and had tiny cheesecake that tasted pretty good.

My painting is just peaking out on the left

This weekend of the 31st, 1st, 2nd in Hacnkey Wick I will be taking part, along with many others, in the Hackney Wicked festival. There will be open studios, private views, music and other things. I will be exhibiting my work around the festival (locations still to be confirmed) and doing two minute portraits on Fish Island. Come down and I’ll paint put your face on paper. I will also have work in Stour Space, The Missions Art Centre and an open studio near the overground station. Come have a look! (I am not advertised in some of these spaces as I was a late comer to some of the shows, but I can assure you I will be there.)
Sunday the 19th marked the preview opening of the Treehouse gallery in Regents Park. I went along to enjoy the nettle ale and big time monster jams, as well as some treehouse climbing. I’m showing some of my etchings in a bark book hidden in the library, and along with some others I will be hosting some printmaking workshops through August.
There will be other workshops and events of all kinds to get involved with from now until mid September down there. To find these things, check their website, www.thetreehousegallery.org
Over the last couple of months I have been painting in collaboration with my friend the painter Nick Creber.
Here are some of the paintings we made… this is an ongoing collaboration, so watch this space for more.

This is a very late post, but I took part in Paul Paper’s collaborative project “It Could Be Me But Its Actually Paul Paper”. I entered two works that can be seen at www.couldbe.me along with many other artist’s works.
